API integration is really just a fancy way of describing how two different systems talk to each other. This kind of integration has limitless possibilities for bringing different information into the software you'd like us to build.

A working example would be a system where you need to plan a delivery route - you could hook into Google Maps to pull back the ideal route for each drop, or enter a manual order instead. That's just one example of what can be done, though.

Data Transfer

The process of transferring data can be quick and easy, or very difficult, depending on how and where the data is currently stored. If there's an easy export option or access to the database, it tends to be a simple process, as long as it's going to be stored in a similar way.

So What Can Make Things More Difficult?

Difficulties can occur when we have to convert data or change how it's stored in the new database. However, we can tweak and change the import as many times as it takes to get it right, without affecting the old data. To make sure the import is correct, we do dummy imports at certain points to check the data against the current system before you switch over to the new one. We'll do this as many times as it takes until you're comfortable.

In rare cases where there's no way of exporting the data, it will usually require manual input - however, we do try to avoid this wherever possible.

How We Build It

We do all of our software development in ASP.NET Core, which is scalable, so you know your software is built to last. It can be installed either on your local server or on a hosting platform, so it can be accessed through a browser.

What Is the Process?

If there's something you'd like us to help with, the first step is for us to have a conversation about what you want and how you'd like it to work. In this initial chat, we'll find out what we need to know about both your company and the system in question, before coming back to you with a proposal and quotation.

If you decide to proceed, we then move to the build stage. You'll be given a link so you can track the status of your system, and once it's complete, we'll demo it for you. If there's anything you'd like to change post-demo, or if something's missing that was quoted for, you can tell us at this point and we'll go away and work on what's agreed.

Once you're happy with the demo, we'll set the system up for live use and give you a month to report any bugs you find as you use the software. Bugs are common with new systems, especially as they're used in ways the developer wouldn't imagine - so if you find any, let us know and we'll get onto sorting them out for you.
